Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow

Words cannot explain how excited I was to find this eye shadow in store today. I've been eyeing it off for a while, this shadow certainly is attention-grabbing. Unfortunately, because I do live in Australia, it's hard to find and I didn't want to pay ridiculous shipping prices online. Anyway, onto the product itself!

This is Stila's Magnificent Metals eye shadow in Comex Gold. It looks absolutely stunning in any light and definitely has a metallic finish. It comes with a little tin mixing tray and a very mini version of their Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer. To be honest, I have a feeling the primer will run out way before I actually finish using all the eye shadow, it's very tiny.

What you do with these items is you use the little primer dropper, add a drop to the tin, add some of the eye shadow and then mix. Doing this will provide a more vibrant and opaque finish, but even if you do skip this, it will still look really lovely but more like a standard gold eye shadow. I'd suggest using your fingers to apply this onto your eyelid, it will just stick to any brushes. Be careful though, this shadow is very glittery, flaky & messy, plus it will stick to practically anything. My camera is now very glittery and it's proven to be quite hard to get off.

Natural Light vs Artificial Light  /  No Primer vs Primer

As you can see in the photos above, this eye shadow does have more  of a copper colouring in natural light. Personally, I'd only be wearing this shadow indoors, at parties, so it doesn't bother me too much. It just doesn't look as 'wow' when compared to the indoor-lighting photo.

Honestly, when I tried this on my actual eyelids, it felt a bit sticky. I'm not a huge fan of that so I'll try out different techniques to fix it, plus I might just skip using the primer. It's a gorgeous eye shadow and that alone makes the price worth it. Not saying I'd buy more colours from this range, but I am happy to stick with just this one.
